As my second project involving crayons I decided to do something that I have a lot of in my house:)CANDLES!
My first attempt did not go well as I only shaved the crayons and then tried lighting the candle wick.As a result the wax and formed together as an ugly dark grey colour
My second attempt was much more successful :D
BEFORE.....
AFTER!!!!!
1.Boil some water in a pan, ounce boiled place a plastic bowl over it.
2.Put some white crayons into the bowl and melt them as you would if you were melting chocolate:D(doesn't have to be white )
3.Ounce they are melted put the wax into an empty metal tea light holder, with the candle wick inside.
3.While it drys, pick another colour crayon and melt it, then put ontop of the white crayon.
4.Repeat this step ounce more with another colour.I decided to the colour of the irish flag and a one that was two shades of purple!, But you can do whatever colours you like!:D
5.Next you can either wait for it to dry or be inpatient like me and put it in a freezer:)
6.Ounce they are dry try lighting the candle wick and all should be good!:DYou can try taking the candle out of the metal holder if you wish but it will likely melt apart of you light it then!:)*note* another way of drying them is to do one coat of wax and then on the second one while its still hot and has not cooled down yet you put it under water so that the wax goes everywhere and dries !:)Heres an example!:D
And thats it!:)The only problem I had with this is that the candle wick doesn't tend to last long and burns out very quickly:(But other than that I hope you enjoyed:)Who would have guessed there'd be so any different uses for crayons!:D
If you have any more suggestions as to what I could do next with crayons please leave a comment or email me at Coolbeanz877@gmail.com !:D x Sarah x
